Ouachita Trail - Moccasin Springs
This was a very short, quick backpack to a place called Moccasin Springs on the OT (mile 175). The main purpose of the trip was to test out some new backpacking equipment (pack, tent, etc.), so it was intentionally kept short.
Moccasin Springs is a beautiful little place with a several large rock outcrops, a large cliff/overlook a reliable stream and a small waterfall (cascade). There is a nice campsite here that's in good shape. At least as of March 25, 2008 there were no signs of overuse of the area.
