202 to 212.2 - Dec-28-2008
Dayhike on the Ouachita Trail from Lundsford Corner (mile 212.2) to mile 202.
Photos are divided by photographer.
This segment makes a great dayhike, provided you have two cars (or some other shuttle arrangements). On this particular day it was a challenge to stay dry... the streams were full and there are numerous creek crossings in this segment. Reece Creek, the largest, was a "wet crossing".
A note about the mileage: Officially this segment should be 10.2 miles. According to the GPS it was 10.5 miles. As usual, the official mileage is quite close, but off by a bit compared to the GPS. This averages out to about 150 feet/mile difference, which is negligible. Looking at it another way, its amazing that the GPS and the official mileage agree so well!
